Janet G. Lazar (Principal)
has practiced trusts and estates law for over 30 years. She has
worked for several firms, large and small, in New York and New
Jersey. She also served as principal law clerk to Judge Renee R. Roth
of the New York County Surrogate's Court. Ms. Lazar is a member of several
bar associations. She received her JD
degree from the University of Michigan School of Law in 1979. She
then studied taxation at the graduate level at New York University School of Law.
She received training in client counseling at
ACAP in Livingston,
New Jersey.
Her undergraduate degree is from Princeton
University, where she majored in English literature and minored in
music. She is married to a computer database designer. She has
sung the national anthem at Shea Stadium with her a cappella group,

Brenda is one of only 325 attorneys in the entire United States who has qualified as a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA).
She has been a frequent lecturer on guardianships, special needs planning, and elder law.
She is a co-author of New Jersey & Disability Law Practice.
She is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
In 1984, she received her LL.M in taxation from New York University School of Law.
Previously, she graduated with honors from the Rutgers University School of Law. Her B.A. in history was awarded magna cum laude by
New York University.
Karen L. Kushkin (Associate)
is admitted to practice law in New York and Michigan. In 2008, she earned her LL.M. in Taxation from New York
University School of Law, where she served as the editor of the Tax Law Review. She received her J.D. degree in
2006 from Northwestern University School of Law. She graduated from the University of Michigan Business School
in 2002 with a B.B.A. in finance. Karen remains a Michigan Wolverine fan. (Go Blue!)

Terry Taylor-Fleming (Legal Assistant)
is a graduate of Dover Business College. She worked in the insurance industry
for ten years and was the managing partner of a decorating business for fifteen years.
She is a Yankees fan, but we forgive her.
